She does not make any claim about having had a child with him, she just appeared to be paid to talk about his early life. Most of it is boring, she says that they met when he was sent to a private school near her hometown and broke up when he graduated and moved back to Butler County.

Carl Roottree died in the recent plane crash along with his wife Brenda Roottree, and their daughters, the Roottree Sisters. He was the President of the Roottree Candy Company as well as the clothing company "ROOT.," which he co-founded with his wife. There is a short press release that the Roottree Candy Company released today to news organizations: [indent] December 6, 1998: It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Carl, Brenda, the Roottree Sisters, and the other employees that perished in the terrible tragedy.
