But in our estimation, he has been a shrewd businessman with an eye for sweets. Ernie Jr. has led Roottree to record profits, by developing new products (including the ever-popular MapleCrisps), and by spearheading the formation of ROOT. with his cousin in 1982 after learning of Brenda Roottree's power in the fashion community.
