Can I identify someone from a portrait?

Yes. A face is one of the ways the game itself checks an identity, so picking the face you are looking at goes straight to the person it belongs to.

Can I search by occupation?

Yes. Many people have a second job the family tree also accepts, and those show up too, marked as an accepted alternative rather than a primary job.

Why does one clue show several people?

A clue can be connected to more than one relative. Being connected is weaker than proof, so those people are ranked lower until a second answer narrows them.

What does “strong proof” mean?

It marks a person the game actually proves through a specific clue, which is as close to a confirmed identity as the family gets.

Why doesn't the finder just pick between two people with similar names?

Sharing a name is not identity on its own. Add a second answer — a face, a job or the clue you are holding — and the finder can commit.

Does it guess family relationships?

No. Parents, children and partners come only from the verified tree, never from a shared name or a photo that happens to hold two people.
