How the Hint Solver Works

Every lead in the game carries a condition with it: a point in the story, a page you have not read, a document you have not found, a publication missing from your list, or an entry your tree has not accepted.

Your answers are checked against those conditions in the order the game keeps them, and the first one that still fits is the hint you get. Nothing is scored or reordered.

Roottreemania runs on its own set of leads. Once the second mystery is underway, the earlier hints are left behind rather than repeated.

Working a lead out yourself is the point, so the wording arrives one line at a time and the answer itself stays behind a button.
